INTERIOR DESIGNER CHATS: Angelica Henry

Each month we chat with local interior designers in Phoenix. This month we spoke with Angelica Henry about her favorite trends, least favorite trends and her ideal home.

What do you think is going to be the next trend in interior design?

I see livable luxury being a strong trend – clients often want the luxurious looking fabrics and finishes without the fuss and worry of a delicate finish. It seems to be the less maintenance the better.

What is your favorite trend this year?

I loved seeing various brass finishes incorporated into everything from hardware, plumbing to light fixtures and furnishings. It offers warmth and is being used in a modern way to keep it fresh.

What is the biggest design mistake that you see most often?

The biggest mistake I see is not considering how lighting impacts a space. Various levels of light including overhead lighting, art lights and ambient lighting can really bring a space to life.

What is one change every homeowner should make?

I think everyone can make an easy change for a big impact whether it is a wall finish, a light fixture or even new cabinet hardware. Sometimes those small details can make a world of difference.

What is your favorite thing in the home?

I love artwork.  It often represents a client’s travels, interests or tastes. Sometimes it can be unexpected but that is sometimes what makes it so great.  

Least favorite?

Lighted ceiling fans.

Distinctive, inviting, and comfortable.
